Discord is a voice, video and text communication service to talk and hang out with your friends and communities. In the end, it worked, but my voice still had odd pauses, drops, and occasional "metallic" sounds that got very annoying to people after awhile.NOTE: /r/discordapp is unofficial & community-run. The in-client documentation is kind of lacking, and I had to do a lot of googling to figure out what to change to make my voice sound feminine. It's kind of an audio mixer that you can use to change your voice as well - what this means is that there are a TON of sliders and dials that you can tweak to your heart's content, but it took me hours of playing with to get it to where my voice sounded feminine. VoiceMeeter is free, and it works, but good luck getting results out of it. However, in weeks of testing I was never able to make a voice that didn't come out sounding awful. It comes with a very limited number of pre-programmed voices, but you can make you own. Like Voxal, everyone clearly knew I was using a voice changer, and they were not happy with hearing the results. It's not intuitive, it's hard to use, and, for all my playing with it, I couldn't get it to produce meaningful results. I didn't spend as much time on this one as the others, mainly because I got a ton of complaints about how my voice sounded with it on - it was VERY apparent I was using a voice changer and the comments ranged from my voice being "robotic" and "processed" sounding, to my voice being "like stabbing a pencil in my ear."Ĭlownfish is free, and it shows. There are a ton of voices, but almost all of them are nigh on useless. Voxal Voice Changer ($35.00, Discounted to $16.97): Ī little bit cheaper than VoiceMod for the lifetime subscription, but also not as good. The soundboard in VoiceMod was easy to set up, use, and had a nicer interface, but the main drawback I found was that, despite how much time I spent tweaking the voices, people still complained that I sounded "glitchy" or that my mic sounded "broken". There are a decent number of voices available, but many of them are pointless or ridiculous, and only two premade male-to-female.

There is a free version, but the changes you can use rotate through a series of "free" selections, and the "Male to Female" voices never came up under free for the two- to three-weeks I was testing. VoiceMod was a solid runner up to MorphVox. MorphVox was the clear winner and the one I decided to stick with for every day use, but it was also by far the most expensive. It was easy to make your own voices, although I didn't find the need to as there were so many available - there are 7 pre-made different male-to female voices available. Although this seems to be an older program and it's not very pretty to use, it had the huge advantage of being the only voicemod I tried that didn't make me sound glitchy and/or robotic.

It was easy to use, provided a bunch of built-in voices and more for free download within the client, and came with a soundboard (Although VoiceMod's soundboard layout was far superior). Here are my results, I hope this helps others:įor me, MorphVox provided the best results.

When there was a paid version of the product, I bought and tested the full paid version. My criteria was that they had to integrate with common gaming platforms (In game voice, Discord, etc). I spent a bunch of time over the last couple of months testing several different voice changers. A lot of people ask about voice changers for their gaming, and it was a topic that interested me, as well.
